Hadith about Surah Al-Fatihah
There are countless hadiths regarding the virtues of Surah Fatiha, and according to one estimate, their number may be more than 70. You will find some famous hadiths about Surah Fatiha in this post.
In Hadith 4474 of Bukhari Sharif, Hazrat Abu Saeed bin Al-Mu’alla said that the Prophet of Islam declared Surah Fatiha as the greatest Surah of the Quran.
In Hadith No. 3995 of Sahih Muslim, Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said that Allah has divided Surah Fatiha in half between Himself and His servant, and My servant has what he asked for.
Then he explained the details of this hadith, namely:
When the servant recites “Alhamdulillah, Rabb Al-‘Alameen”, Allah says, My servant has praised Me.
When the servant recites “Al-Rahman Al-Raheem”, Allah says, My servant has praised Me.
When the servant recites “Malik Yaumuddin”, Allah says to him, “My servant has glorified Me.”
When the servant recites “Iyyaka Nabudu Ayyak Nastaeen”, then this is between Me and My servant, and for My servant is what he asked for.
When the servant recites “Ahdan al-Sirat al-Mustaqeem, Sirat al-Dhin anamat ‘alaihim ghair al-Maghsoob ‘alaihum wa al-dalleen”, Ameen; then Allah says to him, “This is for My servant, and for My servant is what he asked for.”
The simple meaning of the hadith narrated is that when a Muslim recites Surah Fatiha, Allah addresses His servant for each verse of it, meaning Surah Fatiha is not only something to be recited, but rather a living act of conversation.
Surah Al-Fatiha 100 Times Wazifa
